Imhoff, Sarah M. Weaver
December 11, 1955 - June 13, 2020
Sarah M. Imhoff, age 64, of Sheridan, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 13, 2020, at her home. She was born December 11, 1955, in Goshen, Indiana the daughter of Christian and Elsie (Martin) Weaver. Sarah married Samuel R. Imhoff of October 12, 1978, in Goshen, Indiana. Sarah and Sam owned and operated The Country Pantry in Sheridan for many years. She was a member of the Old Order Mennonite Church.
Sarah is survived by her husband of 41 years, Sam; children: Thomas Ray Imhoff of Sheridan, John Earl (Mary) Imhoff of Sheridan, Jacob Allen Imhoff of Sheridan, Christina Faye (Heber) Imhoff of Wakarusa, Indiana, Sara Ann Imhoff of New Holland, Pennsylvania; 12 grandchildren; 6 siblings; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by parents; grandson, Lonnie Jay Imhoff, and two siblings.
The family will receive friends on Monday and Tuesday from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. at the family home. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at 9 A.M. at the Vickeryville Old Order Mennonite Church with Home Conference Ministers officiating. Burial will take place at the church cemetery.
Isner, Kenneth Wayne
October 17, 1939 - September 14, 2020
Kenneth Wayne Isner, 80, a resident of Harrisonburg, went to be with his Lord & Savior on Monday, September 14, 2020.
Mr. Isner was born on October 17, 1939 in Short Gap, WV and was the son of the late Jesse D. and Margaret Bean Isner. On August 14, 1964, he married Eleanor Martin Isner who survives.
Also surviving are his children, Kendra Isner of Phoenix, AZ, Cheryl Hynes, & husband Brendan Sr. & two grandchildren, Brendan Jr., and Abigail of Parker, CO. Siblings, Eileen Siple of WV, Naomi Broome of MD, Norma Dayton of WV, Vernon Isner of PA, Carolyn Bulger of MD, & Darell Isner of VA.
Ken graduated from Fort Ashby High School, Hesston College and from both Eastern Mennonite & Arizona State Universities. He taught school for several years at Pattersons Creek Elementary School.
After the Isners were married, they lived on the Navajo Indian Reservation and taught children. While living in Virginia, Ken enjoyed tourism. He was a tour guide for his late father-in-law's bus business. This launched him into other areas of tourism. Upon returning back to Harrisonburg, Mr. Isner loved meeting International Students. He than was a "tour guide" to many students teaching them American culture and ideas. The Isners were invited to teach English in China. On return to the States, he continued to build friendships with internationals via driving the city bus and was known as "China Man" by many students. The Isners traveled to other countries too, including Haiti, Taiwan and Israel.
All services are private and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Jackson, Margaret R. "Peggy" Oswald, 68, of New Holland, Lancaster Co., PA died June 11, 2020 at the same place. She was born September 30, 1951 at Aurora, OH to Oren Ranck and Pauline (Stutzman) Oswald. On May 26, 1973 she was married to Darryl Jackson, who was born January 11, 1950 and survives.
Surviving are children, Chad E., husband of Dorinda Jackson of Lancaster, PA; Daniel E. Jackson, Dania Beach, FL; and Kimberly A., wife of Andre D. Dyer of Cornwall, PA; five grandchildren, and siblings, Elizabeth J. Oswald of Aurora, OH; Stanley Oswald of Rocky Ford, CO; and Vern, husband of Dee Oswald of Mantua, OH.
A sister, Ann Roth preceded her in death.
Peggy was the Director of the New Holland Early Learning Center where she had worked for 25 years and was also an active member of the New Holland Mennonite Church where she enjoyed teaching Sunday School. A graduate of Eastern Mennonite College, Peggy was a creative gardener, passionate about plants and flowers, was an exceptional cook and loved hosting people in her home. Margaret R. "Peggy" Jackson, 68, of New Holland, passed away at home, surrounded by family, on Thursday, June 11, 2020.
She was married 47 years to Darryl E. Jackson. Born in Aurora, OH, she was the daughter of the late Oren and Pauline Stutzman Oswald.
Peggy was the Director of the New Holland Early Learning Center where she had worked for 25 years and was also an active member of the New Holland Mennonite Church where she enjoyed teaching Sunday School. A graduate of Eastern Mennonite College, Peggy was a creative gardener, passionate about plants and flowers, was an exceptional cook and loved hosting people in her home. She also was an avid card player and was involved in a local card club. One of her greatest pleasures was attending sporting events and activities in which her grandchildren were involved.
Surviving besides her husband are two sons, Chad E., husband of Dorinda Jackson of Lancaster, and Daniel E. Jackson of Dania Beach, FL; a daughter, Kimberly A., wife of Andre D. Dyer of Cornwall, PA and five grandchildren, Tarius Jackson, Myles Jackson, Diego Jackson, Elijah Dyer and Maiah Dyer; a sister, Elizabeth J. Oswald of Aurora, OH; and two brothers, Stanley Oswald of Rocky Ford, CO and Vern, husband of Dee Oswald of Mantua, OH. She was preceded in death by a sister, Ann Roth.
Due to the current health pandemic a celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Jacobs, Donald R.
July 6, 1928 - February 11, 2020
Donald R. Jacobs, 91, died February 11 in the family home in Leola, where he lived his active retirement years since 2002 with his beloved wife, Anna Ruth. During his passing, Don was surrounded by his loving family as he went through several months of sudden health challenges.
He was married to Anna Ruth Charles in 1949, and they celebrated 70 years of marriage in December last year. Their four children are Jane (Glenn Stoltzfus), David, Alan and Paul (Tammy Smith). He is the grandfather of 10 and great-grandfather of 8. Don had 6 brothers and 4 sisters, of whom 6 survive.
He was born near Johnstown, Pennsylvania, son of Paul and Trella Jacobs.
Don was a life-long teacher and learner. He once said that every person he met was his teacher. His teaching career began in Coffee Creek, KY where he taught for two years in an elementary school. He taught for three years at Lancaster Mennonite School. In 1954, he and Anna Ruth went to Tanzania under Eastern Mennonite Mission Board. There he taught in a teacher training college and in a theological college.
From Tanzania the family moved to Kenya where Don helped to set up a religious studies department at the University of Nairobi and then taught there for six years. Along with teaching Don also carried some administrative responsibilities, as well as serving as bishop in the Tanzania Mennonite Church for two years.
The family moved to the U.S. in 1973 where Don was Director of Overseas Missions in the Eastern Mennonite Mission Board office. From 1980 until his retirement Don was engaged in leadership development internationally with Mennonite Christian Leadership Foundation.
Don graduated from Eastern Mennonite High School, received a B.S. in history from Franklin and Marshall College, an M.A. in history from the University of Maryland, a Ph. D. in Anthropology from New York University and a British teaching qualification from University of London.
Life to Don was about relationships, starting with his relationship with his Lord. That gave meaning to his total life, with his blood family, his spiritual family, and acquaintances. He was warmly welcoming and embraced those who came into his life.
Don was an active member of Chestnut Hill Mennonite Church.
Don's memorial service will be held at Landisville Mennonite Church, 3320 Bowman Road, Landisville, PA, 17538, on Saturday, February 29. There will be a visitation on Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and a visitation on Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 AM followed by a memorial service.

Kauffman, Daryl S.
December 14, 1973 - February 15, 2020
Daryl S. Kauffman, 46, of Shipshewana, died at 11:37 am, on Saturday, February 15 at his residence, after a four year battle with cancer. He was born on December 14, 1973, in Goshen, to Sam M. and Lydia Ann (Troyer) Kauffman.
Surviving are his parents of Shipshewana; four brothers, LaVern (Clara) Kauffman of Shipshewana, twin Dale (Ocie) Kauffman of Howe, Richard (Vonda) Kauffman of LaGrange, Lloyd (Lena) Yoder of Goshen; three sisters, Marietta (Ernie) Helmuth of Millersburg, Niva (Dennis) Helmuth of Topeka, Kristine (Darin) Stutzman of Shipshewana; 33 nieces and nephews, nine great nieces and nephews; uncle, Joe Kauffman of Angola.
Daryl was the owner/operator of D-Bar-D Trucking and co-owner of Crossroad Tours. He was a member of Griner Church. He had many friends all over the United States and Haiti. The family would like to thank the community for their outpouring of love and support over the last months and weeks.
Visitation will be after 1:00 pm on both Thursday, February 20 and Friday, February 21 at Shore Church, 7235 W. 100 N., Shipshewana. Funeral services will be at 9:30 am on Saturday, February 22 at K-Z RV Event Center, located at the southeast corner of US 20 and 900 W., Shipshewana. Services will be conducted by Pastors Jimmy Mast, Robert Riegsecker, Jason Miller, and Deacon Harry Jr. Stutzman. Burial will be in East Barren Cemetery, Shipshewana.
Kauffman, Esther A. Yoder
February 7, 1934 - June 19, 2020
Esther A. Kauffman, 86, of Middlebury, died at 11:24 am, on Friday, June 19 at her residence. She was born on February 7, 1934, in Reno County, KS, to Ed and Gertrude (Stutzman) Yoder. On June 28, 1958 in Elkhart County, she married Kenneth Kauffman; he died October 12, 1987.
Surviving are two daughters, Diane Kauffman and Joann (Loren) Stutzman both of Middlebury; five grandchildren, Kaitlin (Todd) Martin, Evan (Natalie) Stutzman, Justin (Nicole) Stutzman, Nathan (Angela) Stutzman, Ryan Stutzman and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister, Ida Mae Miller; brother, Elmer Yoder.
Esther was a former member of Clinton Brick Mennonite Church and currently attended Siloam Fellowship. She had a great love and appreciation for her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed cleaning and tidying up homes in the Middlebury community for many years.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Monday, June 22 at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 South Main Street, Middlebury. There will also be visitation from 9:00 to 10:00 am on Tuesday, June 23 at the funeral home. Family and friends will then go in procession to Clinton Brick Cemetery, Goshen for a 10:15 am graveside service. Services will be conducted by Pastor Vern Hostetler. Memorials may be given to Gospel Echoes Prison Ministries or Siloam Fellowship.
Kauffman, Lonnie Gail
October 25, 1934 ~ May 18, 2020 (age 85)
Lonnie Gail Kauffman was born at home near Crystal Springs, Kansas, on October 25, 1934 to Daniel and Kathryn Ann (Troyer from Harper KS) Kauffman. He passed into his eternal home on May 18, 2020. Lonnie was blessed with one younger sister, Roberta Ann, whom he adored. The family lived near Crystal Springs for ten years, then moved to a family farm (Valentine “Felty” J. Kauffman and Susanna [Miller]) near Guymon, Oklahoma where he lived the remainder of his life. He went to Guymon Public Schools. His high school years, he attended at Hesston Academy (Hesston College & Bible School) in Hesston Kansas, where he met the love of his life, Rosetta Mae Headrick. They were married September 3, 1955, 64 years ago. They were blessed with six children, 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Lonnie accepted the Lord as his Savior and was baptized around the age of 12. He is a member of the Perryton Mennonite Church, Perryton, Texas (now New Hope Fellowship). His faith was very important to him and he blessed his family by taking them to church each Sunday. He was involved as an usher, Elder, church chair and Sunday School teacher. He loved God, family, farming, traveling, conversations, reading, animals and all varieties of music.
He loved being a farmer, working the fields and harvesting. He farmed with his Dad for over 30 years, then with his son, Arlen. Our family always looked forward to summer vacation in Colorado after the wheat harvest was finished.
The last 8 years, Lonnie lived with Alzheimers. He fought it courageously and somehow always kept his ability to make us laugh. He will be greatly missed in our lives.
Lonnie is survived by his wife, Rose, of Guymon OK and children: Marlene (Robert) Henson of Guymon, Lynette (David) Janzen of Hesston KS, Brenda (Paul) Christophel of Hesston KS, Vicki (Shane) Fletcher of Midland TX, Anita (Wendell) Daniel of Guymon and Arlen (Jaime) Kauffman of Guymon. Lonnie had one sister, Roberta Gallegos of Elko NV. He was preceeded in death by his parents, Dan and Kathryn Kauffman.

Marion M. Kauffman, 81, of Middlebury, died unexpectedly at 8:25 pm on Friday, April 24 at his son's residence. He was born on January 13, 1939 in LaGrange County, to Monroe R. and Fannie (Schrock) Kauffman. On March 26, 1959 in Shipshewana, he married LeAnna Miller; she survives.
Survivors in addition to his wife are son, Marvin (Loranna) Kauffman of Middlebury; daughter, Elaine (Phillip) Gingerich of Millersburg; daughter-in-law, Josephine Kauffman of Sears, MI; 17 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Sam (Lydia Ann) Kauffman of Shipshewana, Joe Kauffman of Angola.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, DeWayne Kauffman; infant brother, Daniel Kauffman.
Marion was the owner operator of Kauffman Sales and a member of the Old Order Amish Church. The family will hold private services at a later date. Services will be conducted by the home ministers of the Old Order Amish Church. Burial will be in Miller Cemetery, Goshen. The community is encouraged to show their support by mailing cards of sympathy to the family at 13612 CR 28, Middlebury.
Kauffman, Marvin G.
November 10, 1941 - October 7, 2020
Marvin G. Kauffman, 78, of Millersburg, passed away while surrounded by his family, at 12:28 pm on Wednesday, October 7, after a brief illness. He was born on November 10, 1941 in Arthur, IL, to Harvey and Fannie (Plank) Kauffman. On May 14, 1964 in Lagrange County he married Lizzie Yoder, she survives.
Survivors in addition to his wife are three sons, Steve (Tammy) Kauffman of Indianapolis, Stan Kauffman of Goshen, Stuart (Tara) Kauffman of Goshen; daughter, Shirley Robinson of Millersburg; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four brothers, Alfred (Katie) Kauffman of Middlebury, Ira (Patti) Kauffman of Goshen, Steve (Wilma) Kauffman of Topeka, Harvey (Edna Fern) Kauffman of Middlebury; two sisters, Mary (Dan) Bontreger of Topeka, Katie (John) Eash of New Paris.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Joni Kauffman.
Marvin had worked as an over the road truck driver for most of his life, including 18 years delivering mobile homes and then later delivering recreational vehicles; in retirement he did Amish taxi work. He was a member of Clinton Frame Church and had served in a hospital during his 1W service. He enjoyed many things in life, including fishing and woodworking. Many of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren have been blessed with custom made wooden gifts from their grandfather. He was a very social man who loved spending time with others, especially his family.
Visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00 pm on Friday, October 9, and 2:00 - 6:00 pm Saturday, October 10, at Clinton Frame Church, 63846 CR 35 Goshen. Funeral services will be at 3:00 pm on Sunday, October 11, also at the church. It is recommended that face coverings be worn during all services. Services will be conducted by Pastors Sebastiano Rosa and Linda Miller. Burial will be in Clinton Frame Cemetery, Goshen. Memorials may be given to The Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD) Foundation or Clinton Frame Church for use in the Brotherhood Fund, to assist people in need.
Kauffman, Mary E. Garber
April 14, 1947 - December 2, 2020
Mary E (Garber) Kauffman, 73 of Arthur, Illinois passed away at 11:03 A.M. on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois.
Private services will be held on Monday, December 7, 2020 at the Edwards Funeral Home in Arcola, Illinois. Rev. Glen Rhodes will officiate. Burial will be in the Arthur Cemetery.
Mary was born on April 14, 1947 in Dover, Ohio. She was a daughter of Eli A and Edna D (Yoder) Garber. She married Willis F Kauffman on March 16, 1970 in Ashville, North Carolina.
She is survived by her husband, Willis, of Arthur, IL, two children, Kathy Kearns and her husband David of Arthur, IL, and Kevin Kauffman and his fiancé Pege Godfrey of Arthur, IL, two grandchildren, Tyler Kearns and his fiancé Sarah Smolinski of Arthur, IL and Scott Kauffman of Effingham, IL, one sister, Martha Mullet and her husband Johnny of Sugarcreek, OH, one step-sister, Laura Kline and her husband Roy of Berlin, OH, three step-brothers, Roy Yoder and his wife Emma of Mt. Hope, OH, Willis Yoder and his wife Anna of Sugarcreek, OH and David Yoder and his wife Nicky of Canton, OH.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eli Garber and Edna Yoder, stepfather, Dave Yoder, two brothers, Vernon Garber and Bob Garber, and three stepbrothers, Jonas Yoder, Floyd Yoder and Owen Yoder.
Mary was a member of the Arthur Mennonite Church.
Mary grew up her whole life in Ohio and in 1975 she moved to Illinois. She worked at Marvin Millers cabinet shop for seven years and at Masterbrand as a sprayer, from 1980 until she retired in 2010.
Mary’s favorite things were making turtles and Christmas candy for anyone, eating Chinese with her close friend, Verna Chupp, visiting her sister Martha in Ohio, and most of all spending time with friends and especially her family.
Kauffman, R. Leroy, 82, of Belleville, Mifflin Co., PA died May 13, 2020 at the same place. He was born May 3, 1937 at Belleville to Stephen and Lydia (Glick) Kauffman. On December 6, 1958 at Belleville, he was married to Joanne Peachey, who was born February 24, 1939 and survives.
Surviving are children, Jayne, Jill, Roderick, and Chadwick.
Memorial services were held February 16, 2020 at Maple Grove Mennonite Church, 115 Maple Grove Rd., Belleville with burial in Locust Grove Cemetery, Belleville, PA.
Keener, Alma L. Groff
October 12, 1918 - July 1, 2020
Alma L. Keener, age 101, after living 30 years at Landis Homes, passed from this life to her heavenly home on July 1, 2020 to be with her Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, whom she loved so dearly.
Born in Strasburg, PA, she was the oldest child of the late Lester and Mary Lefever Groff. On November 26, 1938 she married Clyde E. Keener who passed away on December 27, 1986. They celebrated 48 precious years together.
Alma was a very dedicated wife, faithful secretary and bookkeeper 40 years for the family business, Keener Equipment, Manheim Pike, Lancaster. She did this with an air of grace in a way that brought dignity and love to Clyde until the end of his life.
A member of Erisman Mennonite Church, Alma enjoyed teaching Sunday school and attending sewing circle.
Alma also enjoyed being involved in the Ladies Auxiliary at Landis Camp.
She loved her family deeply, was an avid cook, loved flowers, and enjoyed traveling.
Alma will forever be remembered for her intercessory prayer life. She spent hours each morning praying for her whole family, her church, missionaries, and others. She had a heart for lost souls.
Alma had a generous heart and an open purse for anyone in need. She and her husband were faithful supporters of many missionaries, ministries, family and friends. Each of their three children served in other countries – Belize, Africa, and Haiti.
Surviving are her three children; Betty L., wife of Lester Miller, J. Clyde, husband of Vera (Stoltzfus) Keener, and Barbara A., wife of Nevin Kraybill; 12 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and 19 great-great-grandchildren.
Alma was preceded in death by a sister, Pearl Banks, wife of the late Hoyt Banks; and a brother, Ivan Groff.
The family expresses gratitude to the staff at Landis Homes for their loving care during the many years living there, and Hospice & Community Care for their special care during the final two weeks of Alma's journey on this earth.
In lieu of flowers, remembering Alma's love for missions, contributions may be made to Gospel Express, P.O. Box 217, Lynn, North Carolina 28750 to help with the hunger in Uganda, Africa.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 6 at 10 AM at Erisman Mennonite Church, 8 S. Erisman Road, Manheim. The service will be livestreamed and can be viewed at www.groffeckenroth.com. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Sunday, July 5 from 4-6 PM, and Monday from 9-10 AM at the church. Those attending either event must wear a mask as required by the PA Secretary of Health order.

Keener, Marian L. Heisey
March 10, 1936 - January 6, 2020
Olean, NY- Marian L. Keener, 83, of 602 Grandview Ave., passed away Monday (January 6, 2020) at the Bradford, PA Manor.
Born March 10, 1936 in Lancaster, PA she was the daughter of Walter and Martha Brosey Heisey. On July 31, 1954 in Elizabethtown, PA she married Richard H. Keener who survives.
Marian was raised in Lancaster County and, after her marriage to Richard, began farming with him and raising a family. Later they farmed in Rexville, NY in Steuben County where she continued leading a Christian life, teaching her family the value of hard work, and making beautiful, hand-stitched quilts.
Surviving besides her husband are 4 daughters Beverly J. (Robert) Miller of Liberty, PA, Wendy L. (Leon) Brunk of Toano, VA, Julie A. (Randy) Knauer of Lititz, PA and Brenda L. (John) West of Olean; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 1 sister Jean (Jake) Snyder of Avon Park, FL; 2 brothers Kenneth Heisey of Elizabethtown, PA and Joseph (Anita) Heisey of Columbia, PA and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by 2 sisters Norma Groff and Rachel Gish.
The family will be present to receive friends on Friday from 1-3pm at the West Union Mennonite Church, Rexville. A funeral service will immediately follow at 3pm in the church. Visitation will continue on Saturday (January 11, 2020) from 1-3pm at the Erisman Mennonite Church in Manheim, PA. Burial will follow in Erisman Mennonite Church Cemetery, Manheim, PA.

Keller, Eunice K. Martin
November 29, 1930 - October 9, 2020
Eunice K. Keller, 89, formerly of Manheim, died peacefully on Friday, October 9, 2020 at Fairmount Homes, Ephrata. Born Nov. 29, 1930 in Bridgeport, she was the daughter of the late Bishop Elmer G. and Ada Kreider Martin. She was the loving wife of Lloyd B. Keller and they would have observed their 70th wedding anniversary in December of this year. A homemaker, Eunice was a faithful member of Erb Mennonite Church, Lititz.

Mildred U. Kennel, age 97 of Landis Homes, formerly of Gordonville and Atglen, passed away on Saturday, February 29, 2020. She was the wife of the late Vernon I. Kennel who passed away on August 16, 2007. She was born in Gap, daughter of the late Edgar C. and Susan P. Smoker Umble.
Mildred was a life long and faithful member of Maple Grove Mennonite Church. For many years she served in the kitchen as a member of the hospitality committee. She provided and arranged flowers for the sanctuary each week. An avid quilter, Mildred made many quilts, not only for her family, but also for M.C.C. at sewing circle. She loved watching blue birds, her well-tended garden produced bountiful harvests and she freely shared its abundance with others. She enjoyed picking wild black raspberries for jams and jellies. She volunteered at Country Gift & Thrift Shoppe in Gap, was a member of the Parkesburg Garden Club, and made homemade donuts for the monthly Atglen Fire Company breakfast. Not only immediate family, but extended family, church friends and members of the community experienced her gift of hospitality as frequently invited guests around her dinner table. She was a loving and supportive grandma, playing games with them and attending their programs and sporting events.
Surviving are 4 children: Larry J. husband of Marilyn Headings Kennel of Mount Joy, Deryl G. husband of Mim Ropp Kennel of Harrisonburg, VA, Don E. Kennel of Kailua-Kona, HI, and Arlin J. husband of Lois Buchen Kennel of New Holland, 10 grandchildren: Fran, Reuben, Sarah, Megan, Carissa, Nathan, Zach, Patrick, Eric and Lindsey, 24 great grandchildren, and 2 brothers: Harold Umble of Lititz formerly of Atglen, and Vernon husband of Mildred Landis Umble of Christiana and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She embraced the role of stand-in grandma for the Dave and Sue Keirn family.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Umble.
Funeral service will take place from Maple Grove Mennonite Church, 549 Swan Road, Atglen, PA, on Monday, March 9th at 11 a.m. with a viewing from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Pastors Mike Clemmer and Mike Lusby will be officiating. There will also be a viewing time on Sunday evening, March 8 from 4 to 6 p.m. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. Harold Reuben "Jr" Kennell, 78, of Shelbyville, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 in St. John's Hospital, Springfield, Illinois.
A public visitation will be held from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 11, 2020 in Cornerstone Community Fellowship, Shelbyville, Illinois. The family asks that everyone respects their wishes of wearing masks and social distancing. A private funeral service for immediate family will be held at later date. Harold was born on August 6, 1942 in Roanoke, Illinois, the son of Reuben Harold and Elsie Martin Kennell. He was a farmer in the Shelbyville area and was also a salesman for Growers Mineral Solutions. Harold attended North Vine Mennonite Church in Arthur, Illinois and was a member of the former Mount Hermon Mennonite Church, near Shelbyville, Illinois. He married Shirley Christner on March 12, 1967 and they had five sons.
He is survived by his sons, Mark Kennell (Karen) of Rogersville, MO, Darren Kennell (Amber) of Mattoon, IL, Harlan Kennell (Danielle) of Coal City, IL, and Kurt Kennell (Courtney) of Indian Trail, NC; daughter-in-law, Hope Hamrick of Petersburg, IL; brothers, Leonard Kennell (Velda) of Benson, IL, Ralph Kennell (Julia) of Goshen, IN, Carl "Pete" Kennell (Kathy) of Washburn, IL and Ervin Kennell (Rose) of Delta, CO; sister, Luann Gerber of Goshen, IN; twelve grandchildren, Derek Kennell (Anna), Kayla Kennell, Drew Kennell, Alex Kennell, Chad Kennell, Bart Kennell, Brett Kennell, Abbie Kennell, Kylee Kennell, Hayden Kennell, Elijah Kennell and Ozzie Kennell; and one great grandchild, Hallie Kennell.

Carol A. Kilmer, formerly of Richland, PA, died peacefully at her brother's home in Sparta, WI, on Monday, February 17, 2020, after bravely battling cancer for 17 months.
Born in Lebanon Co. on December 21, 1958, Carol was the daughter of the late Phares E. and Mabel B. Kilmer. She did secretarial work at Rigidply Rafters and Dutch-Way Farm Market, taught school for several years, and most recently she was a cashier at Sharp Shopper in Ephrata. She was a member of the Richland Mennonite Church.
She is survived by her brothers Gerald L. husband of Marian Kilmer of Hayward, WI, and Glenn E. husband of Loretta Kilmer of Sparta, WI; nieces & nephews Loren Kilmer, Audrey Miller, Debra Hershey, all of Hayward, WI, Lynette Coutain of Stone Lake, WI, Joseph Kilmer of University City, MO, Sheldon Kilmer of Terre Hill, PA, Sheila Graber of Rockland, WI, Justin Kilmer of St. Paul, MN, Jared Kilmer of Sparta, WI, Jaden Kilmer of Minsk, Poland, and Brenden Kilmer of Darjeeling, India; and long-time friend Reba Sauder, who resided with her.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at the Richland Mennonite Church, 399 N. Race St., Richland. Eli B. Kilmer, 75, of Denver passed away at Wellspan Ephrata Community Hospital on Tuesday, June 16, 2020, following a short hospital stay.
He was born in Bowmansville on January 2, 1945, to Martin Z. and Mary B. Kilmer. On May 1, 1965, he married Irene M. Newswanger and was married to her for 52 years until her death in 2017. On January 2, 2020, he married Miriam B. Kulp who survives, of the late home.
Eli was a lifelong truck driver and in his retirement enjoyed camping, fishing and time with his family.
In addition to his current wife Miriam, Eli is survived by eight children: Louella (Thomas) Reagan, Doe Run, MO; Norma (Randy) Gilliland, Lohman, MO; Michael (Karen) Kilmer, Warrenton, VA; Robert (Kara) Kilmer, California, MO; Sharon (Ryan) Newswanger, Ephrata, PA; Dawn (Steve) Martin, Ephrata, PA; Sheril (Rodney) Zeiset, Ephrata, PA; and Diane Kilmer, Dallas, TX. He was blessed with 25 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He also gained 5 stepsons: Gene (Nanette) Kulp; Randy (Dawn) Kulp; Carl (Cindy) Kulp; Steve (Nancy) Kulp; and Mike (Cathy) Kulp all of Lancaster County, PA.
Eli is also survived by two brothers and three sisters: Nancy (David) Ramer, IN; Fannie (Eddie) Martin, IN; Amanda Burkholder, IN; Harvey (Judy) Kilmer, MO; Rufus (Martha) Kilmer, MO.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and four sisters.
A memorial service was held on June 19, 2020 at the New Life Fellowship Church in Ephrata. There will be a private graveside service for the family at Bowmansville Mennonite Church. King, Evonna Charlene Myers
September 28, 1923 - July 25, 2020
Evonna Charlene King, 96, of Goshen, peacefully slipped from this world to the next on July 25, 2020 at Greencroft Haven where she had been a resident for the past year and a half.
Born on September 28, 1923 to Paul J. Myers and Lona Shrock Myers, she and her two brothers, Dorwin C. (d. 2003) and Paul Dale (d. 1976), were raised in Howard County, Indiana on her parents’ farm. Evonna graduated from Clay Township High School in 1941 and completed a one-year secretarial course at Goshen College. After her time at Goshen College, she worked briefly at Continental Steel. Later in life she worked a short time in a dentist’s office and for 15 years in the cafeteria at Eastern Elementary School. She spent most of her life as a homemaker.
On June 2, 1946 she married Paul Miller King (d. 2002) in the front room of her parents’ home. For nearly 56 years, Evonna and Paul shared a loving marriage based on trust, respect, and their faith in God.
The Kings raised their children in a little yellow house that Paul built in Greentown, Indiana. They had one son, Delmar K., and three daughters, Janet Rae, Janice Ann, and Bonita Joy. In 1950, Janet died at the age of five months from pneumonia and Joy died from cancer in 1973, when she was 17. Despite these tragedies, Evonna’s faith was unwavering. A hymn was never far from her lips and she was a dedicated member of the Mennonite church; variously attending Howard-Miami Mennonite, Parkview Mennonite in Kokomo and Waterford Mennonite in Goshen.
Evonna and Paul moved from Greentown to Goshen in 1995 to be close to their two remaining children Del (Sherri Gunden) and Jan (Tim Stair) and grandchildren—Joe King, Lauren King, Adam Scharf (Anna Wiebe) all of Goshen, Austin Scharf (Kevin Maloney) of Atlanta, Georgia, David Stair (Alison Leavitt Stair) of Nappanee, and Joel Stair (Kristin Stair) of San Diego, California. The couple never missed Adam and Austin’s tennis matches or concerts, or Joe’s soccer and basketball games. Evonna valiantly attempted to improve her granddaughter’s domestic skills by teaching her sewing and the fine art of Jell-O salads, but, mercifully or tragically, not all the lessons stuck. Win or lose, on-key or off, jelled or soupy, Evonna’s love for her grandchildren was steadfast and punctuated with warm hugs and Big Red gum.
More recently, Evonna found happiness in her great-grandchildren: Jack Thomas Stair (4), Louisa Vonn Scharf (4), Sidney David Scharf (15 mos.), and Cameron John Scharf-Maloney (5 mos). Jack and Louisa loved to visit their “GG” and make new drawings to hang on her walls. They also loved the chocolate and mints in her candy dish!
Never one for idleness and meticulous to the core, Evonna was always precise in her actions. Evonna would go on daily walks and deliver church mail. Her hair pins were always in place and a toothpick was never out of reach. Even at the age of 95 when she entered Greencroft’s nursing home, she would assist with setting the dining tables and folding napkins, matching corners exactly.
Evonna will always be remembered as a selfless, gentle, and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Whenever she met someone new, she always asked for their first and last name just in case she knew their relatives. She was one of the first to help when a person was in need. When guests were at her home, she welcomed them with open arms, a big smile, and served them delicious food grown in their garden and preserved by her. They might be lucky enough to be given leftovers to take home or coupons to their favorite fast food establishment.
Evonna was a beautiful person in every sense of the word and she will be missed dearly.
A memorial service will be held over video conference for family and friends. Evonna’s remains will be buried by those of her husband and daughters in Mast Cemetery near Kokomo on Monday, August 3 at 11:00 a.m. There will be a short outdoor interment service. Her family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to either Greencroft Foundation or Mennonite Central Committee.
King, Jonas Beiler
November 1, 1937 - September 4, 2020
Jonas Beiler King, 82, of Goshen, died Friday, September 4, 2020, at Goshen Hospital from the Covid-19 virus.
Jonas was born November 1, 1937, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, to Samuel F. and Mary Anna (Beiler) King.
On June 30, 1963, he married Esther Schrock. She survives, along with their son and daughter-in-law, Marshall King and Bethany Swope. Other survivors include siblings Lydia King of Ronks, Pennsylvania; David (Mary) King of Mifflinburg, Pennsylvania; Sam (Carol) King of Middlebury; Levi (Mary Ann) King of Ronks; Ben King of Ronks; Sarah Varley of Ronks; and a number of beloved in-laws on the Schrock side.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother and sister-in-law Christy and Sarah King, sister Elizabeth King and brother-in-law Mike Varley.
Jonas was born Old Order Amish and went into 1-W service in Harrison, Arkansas. After his marriage to Esther, they lived in El Dorado, Arkansas and moved back to Elkhart County in 1976. He worked in the recreational vehicle and mobile home industry as a welder at Rockwood, Schult Homes and Supreme Corp. On the side, he was a small-scale farmer and craftsman of utility trailers. In his later years, he delivered vehicles nationally and drove school buses for Goshen Community Schools for 10 years, retiring in November 2019.
He was a member of Milford Chapel, a Mennonite church in Milford, Indiana, and had been part of Gideons International for more than 50 years. He was a volunteer for Gospel Echoes Team Prison Ministry. Jonas loved his family and the God who created him. He was known for his infectious smile, large hands and huge heart.
A private family burial will take place in Miller Cemetery. A memorial service will be planned for a later date. Memorial contributions may be given to Gospel Echoes Team Prison Ministry, P.O. Box 555, Goshen, IN 46527, or Gideons International.

Eunice May Showalter Knicely, 84, a resident of Dayton, passed away Monday, Dec. 7, 2020, at her home. Mrs. Knicely was born Oct. 25, 1936, in Rockingham County and was a daughter of the late Michael R. and Fannie B. Heatwole Showalter.
She was a homemaker and a member of Riverdale Old Order Mennonite Church.
On Feb. 6, 1965, she married Edwin M. Knicely, who preceded her in death Dec. 27, 2004.
Surviving are her children, John M. Knicely and wife, Laura, of Bridgewater, Brent M. Knicely and wife, Sue Ann, of Mount Crawford, Larry W. Knicely and wife, Janice, of Dayton, James E. Cline and husband, James, of Harrisonburg, Joseph I. Showalter and wife, Frances, of Timberville, Fannie Bell Good and husband, Willis, of Dayton and S. Frank Showalter and wife, Cathy, of Timberville; sister-in-law, Orva R. August 24, 1948 - December 6, 2020
Stella G. Knicely, 72, of Mount Crawford, passed away Sunday, Dec. 6, 2020, at her home. She was born in Rockingham County on Aug. 24, 1948, and was a daughter of the late Herman Wilson and Esther Virginia (Heatwole) Knicely.
Stella retired in 2015 as the office manager of the physical plant at Eastern Mennonite University. She was a member of Dayton Mennonite Church.
Stella is survived by five sisters, Hazel Shirk of Rockingham, Rhoda Showalter and husband, Larry, of Seneca Rocks, W.Va., Fay Brubaker and husband, Harold, of Harrisonburg, Mabel Knicely of Mount Crawford and Elsie Showalter and husband, Robert, of Broadway; and two brothers, Boyd Knicely and wife, Mabel, of Weyers Cave, and Wade Knicely and wife, Rhoda, of Mount Crawford. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, are her brother, Fred Knicely and wife, Dawn; brother-in-law, Mervin Shirk; and great-niece, Christine Hobbs.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2020, at Pike Mennonite Church in Harrisonburg with Linden Rhodes officiating.

Nina Koehn, 94, of Moundridge, Kansas, passed away Monday, April 27, 2020 at Moundridge Manor. She was born November 26, 1925 in Verden, Oklahoma, the daughter of Nathaniel and Hannah (Schmidt) Zeiset.
She was a devoted homemaker. Nina was a member of Grace Mennonite Congregation in Halstead.
Nina was united in marriage to Herman S. Koehn on October 19, 1986 in Chickasha, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on February 17, 1995.
She is survived by her stepsons, Truman (Aurel) Koehn of McPherson, Melvin Koehn of Moundridge, Jerald (Linda) Koehn of Halstead, Dennis (Martha) Koehn of Alabama, and Gene Koehn of Ruleville, Mississippi; sister, Johanna (Franklin) Toews of Moundridge; 31 step-grandchildren and many step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; five brothers; four sisters; two stepsons; one stepdaughter; and two stepdaughters-in-law

Kosteck, Nancy E. Bender

Nancy E. (Bender) Kosteck, 86, of Victoria, Texas and formerly of Goshen, died Thursday, April 2, 2020, at her home.
She was born November 25, 1933 in Elkhart to Harold S. and Elizabeth B. (Horsch) Bender.
She is survived by her son, Harold G. Kosteck of Victoria, Texas; three step-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary E. Bender of Goshen.
Nancy received a bachelor’s degree from Goshen College in 1956 and a master’s degree in 1961 from the University of Michigan.
A cellist and Suzuki teacher, Nancy had many strings students, ranging in age from four years to adults, in the Goshen area. Her students will remember her as demanding in form and technique, yet gentle and encouraging.
She was a member of Walnut Hill Mennonite Church. Nancy was also a member of the Suzuki Association of Americas and the American String Teacher’s Association.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Burial will be in Elkhart Prairie Cemetery.
Krause, Sasha Marie
April 8, 1992 - January 18, 2020
Farmington, New Mexico – Sasha Marie Krause, 27, resident of Farmington, New Mexico, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2020. She was born April 8, 1992 in Temple, Texas to Robert and Laura Krause. Her parents joined the Mennonite church when she was 11 years old and Sasha soon realized her need for Jesus, her Saviour. She became a Christian and grew in her love for the Lord. In her youth she began writing poems and lyrics for hymns. For six years she taught school at Grandview Gospel Fellowship. One and a half years before her death, she moved to New Mexico and began work at Lamp & Light Publishers. She was instrumental in the literature ministry in Spanish, French, and English.
Sasha is loved and greatly missed by her parents: Robert and Laura Krause, her siblings: Amanda, Megan (William Knepp), Emma, Robert, Evelyn, and Sara Krause, her grandparents: Tau Smith and Bob & Paula Krause, her great-grandmother: Vertrice Smith, 5 aunts and 9 cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Gary Smith.
A funeral service was held in the family's hometown of Itasca, TX on Friday, February 28. Newmanstown - Anna Mary (Martin) Kreider, 80, of Newmanstown, PA went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, August 17, 2020 after a massive stroke took her unexpectedly. She was the loving wife of Roy W. Kreider, with whom she shared 59 happy years.
She will be greatly missed by her children, Joy (Steve Shirk) of Myerstown, PA, Clifford (Christine) of Myerstown, PA, Curvin (Mary Lee) of Squaw Valley, CA, David (Karen) of Newmanstown, PA, John (Kristina) of Newmanstown, PA, Mary Anne (Jesse Weaver) of Lebanon, PA, and Rosene (Dan Zimmerman) of Mt. Pleasant, MI. She cared deeply for each of her children, as well as her 29 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was a faithful member of Texter Mountain Mennonite Church.
Anna Mary was born on February 21, 1940 to the late Harvey W. and the late Lydia (Huber) Martin.
She is survived by her sisters, Alta (David Schwartz), Esther (James Bange), and Susan (the late Raymond Zimmerman). Anna Mary will always be remembered for her servant's heart.
She showed God's love by sharing many meals with families and lending a sympathetic ear, always with an encouraging smile. She was known to be a faithful prayer warrior. Her vegetable and flower garden was among her favorite places to be.

Esther Nolt Kreider, 87, passed peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at Garden Spot Village in New Holland where she had been a resident for the past year. Born in Earl Township on February 5, 1933, Esther was the daughter of the late Samuel O. and Anna Martin Nolt. One of eight children, Esther grew up in a conservative Mennonite home, but soon after her marriage and move to a beautiful farm in Gap, she traded her "plain" for "fancy". She was known for always looking very stylish and for her fondness of all things sparkly.
Esther was the wife of her beloved Jacob L Kreider, who passed away in 2016. They had recently celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary. Esther was not only a farm wife for 50 years, but had also worked as an Amish Country tour guide, however she was mostly known for her 24 years spent as a waitress at Good 'N Plenty Restaurant in Smoketown.
Family was very important to Esther, especially her five sisters. They spent hours on the phone together, planned memorable family gatherings, and were wonderful examples to those of us lucky enough to have known them. She was also a dedicated grandmother and great-grandmother, making sure there was plenty of ice cream and fun to go around.
Without question, Esther was a social butterfly and she loved to keep things light and fun. She was always ready with a smile and an easy laugh. Esther loved reading, playing her piano, doing puzzles, watching the hummingbirds at her feeder, and taking long walks, often with hands clasped behind her back. Esther and Jake also loved to travel, taking several memorable cruises with dear friends and family. Esther treasured their winters in Sarasota, FL, enjoying time with friends playing shuffleboard, cards and taking walks on Siesta Key Beach. Esther also loved music, and almost always had it playing wherever she was. She "had a song for every occasion" and often made up little tunes to entertain her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Esther was a member of Forest Hills Mennonite Church, Leola. She is survived by a son, Barry L. Kreider, Paradise and a daughter, Jacqueline B Nelson, wife of Donald J. Nelson, Ephrata, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A Viewing will be held Tuesday, February 18, 2020 from 5 to 7 PM at Forest Hills Mennonite Church, 100 Quarry Road, Leola, PA 17540. Private interment will be in Paradise Mennonite Cemetery. A Memorial Service will take place at Forest Hills Mennonite Church on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at 11 AM.

Kreider, Esther Nolt, 87, of Gap, PA died February 11, 2020 at New Holland, Lancaster Co., PA. She was born February 5, 1933 in Earl Township, Lancaster Co., PA to Samuel and Anna (Martin) Nolt. She was married to Jacob Kreider, who is deceased.
Surviving are children, Barry L. Kreider & Jacqueline B. Nelson; six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

February 12, 1930 - November 13, 2020
Franklin H. Kreider, 90, of Lancaster, passed away at home on Friday evening, November 13, 2020 with family by his side.
Born in East Petersburg, PA, on February 12, 1930, he was the son of the late Elmer K. and Mary A. (Herr) Kreider. He married B. Winona Stauffer on August 13, 1955. They celebrated 63 years of marriage before she passed away on February 1, 2019. He was a member of Muddy Creek Mennonite Church (Hope Fellowship).
Frank served 2 years of 1W service at Norristown State Hospital, Norristown, PA. He enjoyed the one semester that he attended at EMC, Harrisonburg, VA.
His love of music and enthusiasm for singing led to many hours of singing together with his family around the kitchen table. Throughout his life, he enjoyed being able to sing with various choruses and quartets. He passed on his musical knowledge by teaching music classes at Pleasant Valley Mennonite School, Ephrata, PA.
He started Franklin H. Kreider Coal, Fuel and Fertilizer, Lancaster, PA and later Kreider Foods, Lancaster, PA. With his creative mind and inventive talent, he was often found in his shop building the equipment he needed to keep his businesses running efficiently.
Frank is survived by 5 children: Amy L. married to Glenn Martin of Manheim; Dale F. married to Melissa (Shirk) Kreider of Lancaster; Martha J. married to Richard Hoover, Narvon; Barbara E. married to Kenneth Sheaffer of Lancaster; and Leon S. married to Karen (Weaver) Kreider of Denver; 19 grandchildren and 60 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by 2 brothers: John H. (Lois) Kreider, Harrisonburg, VA and Clyde H. (Merie) Kreider, Lancaster, PA.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Dwight Eugene Kreider; a great grandson, Carter Logan Martin; 5 brothers: Mervin H.; Lloyd H.; Elmer H.; Norman H; Harold H., and 3 sisters: Elva M. Breneman; Esther M. Siegrist and Edith A. Denlinger.

Kreider, Janet H.
August 30, 1928 - January 28, 2020
Janet H. Kreider, 91, of Lititz, and formerly of Landisville, died on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at Landis Homes Retirement Community. Born near Landisville she was the daughter of the late Irvin K. and Fannie Herr Kreider. Janet graduated from Lancaster Mennonite School and later attended Eastern Mennonite College. She obtained a Bachelor's Degree in English from Millersville University where she graduated Summa Cum Laude.
As young adults, Janet and her sister, Elizabeth, served as bookstore managers and sang in a Ladies Quartet with evangelist Myron Augsburger's Crusade for Christ. Janet taught third grade for two years. For over 37 years Janet worked for Eastern Mennonite Missions, retiring as editor of Missionary Messenger. She was a faithful member of East Petersburg Mennonite Church where she served as librarian, Sunday school teacher, and song leader. Janet's passion was writing poetry, playing a variety of musical instruments, and listening to music that inspired her. Using Janet's writing and music abilities, along with Elizabeth's photography skills, the sisters presented illustrated readings to many groups. A special time in Janet's life was writing and directing the play, "Henry's Red Sea". Janet was a master wordsmith, Scrabble player, and crossword puzzle solver.
Janet cared deeply about her family. Surviving are two nephews: David husband of Mary Ann Kreider, Jonathan husband of Fran Kreider; a niece, Rosemary wife of Jim Hess, 11 great-nieces and nephews and 12 great-great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth H. Kreider and a brother Roy H., and his wife Florence Kreider.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Janet's memorial service at Landis Homes Retirement Community, WEST BETHANY CHAPEL, 1001 East Oregon Road, Lititz, on Sunday, February 9, 2020 at 2 p.m. Visitation will be immediately following the service. Kreider, Pauline H. "Polly" Miller
August 25, 1929 - April 14, 2020
Pauline H. "Polly" Kreider, 90, of Manheim, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 14, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Landisville, she was the daughter of the late David and Edna Pearl Houck Miller. Polly was the loving wife of J. Richard Kreider who died in December of 2008.
For many years she attended Mount Joy Mennonite Church and recently attended services in Hoffer Auditorium at Pleasant View Retirement Community. For many years Polly worked along- side her husband on the family farm. She was a member of the Lancaster County Farm Women. Polly loved flower and vegetable gardening and attending garage sales. Throughout her life Polly and Richard enjoyed traveling extensively throughout the United States and Europe with friends of the Green Laurel Hunting Club.
Known for her ministry with sending cards and notes; Polly would add uplifting cartoons with her writings to help lift the spirits of many and to bring joy to her family and friends. Polly had a humble servant's heart that cared deeply for her friends, and was devoted to her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are two daughters, Sandra wife of D.W. Dempsey, of Spring Branch, TX, Debra Kreider, of Lititz, six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, three brothers, Fred husband of Lynn Miller, of Lancaster, James husband of Anne Miller, of Landisville, Herb Miller, of Lancaster, two sisters, Arlene wife of John Weber, of Ephrata, Marilyn wife of John Burkhart, of Mount Joy, a son-in-law, David L. Johnson of Manheim, and a daughter-in-law, Connie wife of Larry Fetter of Howard. Preceding her in death is a son, Rick Kreider, a daughter, Pat Johnson, a granddaughter, Carmen Kreider, two brothers, Robert and David Miller, and a sister, Jeanette King.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Hospice and Community Care for the compassionate loving care given to Polly's during her illness and home going.
Due to public health guidelines, services for Polly will be announced at a later date. Interment will be private in Erb Mennonite Cemetery.
Kropf, Lily Alice Hostetler
June 25, 1924 - April 2, 2020
Lily Alice (Hostetler) Kropf was born June 25, 1924 to Ora and Bessie (Shrock) Hostetler. She peacefully passed away in her home April 2, 2020, at the age of 95 years, 9 months and 8 days, following a heart attack 3 weeks earlier.
After having a stroke in January 2011, her daughters, daughters-in-law and granddaughters lovingly and faithfully cared for her for over 9 years.
She accepted Christ as her Savior in her youth and was a faithful member of the Pleasant View Amish Mennonite Church until her death.
On March 14, 1945, she was united in marriage to Owen Eli Kropf, son of Levi and Amanda (Yoder) Kropf. He passed away October 17, 2011, sharing life together over 66 years.
This union was blessed with 12 children, eight of whom survive, three sons, Gordon and wife Lily (Hostetler) Kropf, of Blue River, WI. Rodney and wife Rhoda (Miller) Kropf, Buffalo, MO. Jason and wife Elsie (Miller) Kropf, Halfway, MO. 5 daughters, Leona, wife of the late John Hostetler, Buffalo, MO. Rita and husband Leslie Swartzentruber, of Salem, AR. Margaret and husband Jonathan Headings, Buffalo, MO. Melodee and husband Stanley Hostetler, Miller, MO. Jewell and husband Donald Headings, Buffalo, MO. 2 daughters-in-law, Karen, wife of the late Robert Kropf, Blue River, WI. Rita, wife of the late Don Kropf, of Dover, MO. 72 grandchildren, 230 great-grandchildren, 63 great-great-grandchildren, also surviving her are one brother, Ben Hostetler, Buffalo, MO. 2 sisters, Sylvia, wife of the late John D. Blosser, Halfway, MO. Celesta and husband Chester Shrock, Buffalo, MO. 3 sisters-in-law, Betty (wife of the late Tim Hostetler), Buffalo, MO. Sharon (wife of the late Orla Hostetler), Halfway, MO., and Wilma Hostetler, Sedalia, MO.
Preceding her in death besides her husband were an infant son Lester, sons Robert and Don, daughter Marjorie, son-in-law John Hostetler, also 1 grandchild, 16 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson.

William R. Kuhn, 96, of Chambersburg, PA and formerly of Fulton County, PA, passed away Saturday, January 18th, 2020 at Chambersburg Hospital, Chambersburg, PA.
William was born in Webster Mills, PA on August 3, 1923, the son of the late Ruth (Knable) and William L. Kuhn. He was the widower of Betty (Miller) Kuhn whom he married in September of 1942 and she passed away on November 19, 2008.
Mr. Kuhn was a member of the Rock Hill Mennonite Church in McConnellsburg, PA, was a forklift operator at H.J. Heinz in Chambersburg, PA and then worked at J. Robert Meyers helping with various auctions throughout the area. He also was the caretaker at Union Cemetery in McConnellsburg, PA from 1949 to 1969 and enjoyed attending yard sales.
He is survived by daughters Betty Jane Seiders, of McConnellsburg, PA, Judy J. (wife of Dennis) Shover, of St. Thomas, PA, Lorraine (wife of Kirk) Cunningham, of McConnellsburg, PA, Ruth I. (wife of Steve) Brindle, of Chambersburg, PA, sons William Lee (husband of Marie) Kuhn, of Chambersburg, PA, David M. Kuhn, of McConnellsburg, PA, sisters Betty Kuhn, of McConnellsburg, PA, Margaret Racila, of Fayetteville, PA, Charlotte Goetz, of Greencastle, PA, brother Denver Kuhn, of McConnellsburg, PA, twelve grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. William was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.

Faron Travis Kuhns, son of Matthew F. and Sara Beth (Mullet) Kuhns, was stillborn Thursday, July 2, 2020 at Goshen General Hospital.
He is survived by his parents of Nappanee, IN; 2 sisters, Jennifer Kuhns and Jolene Kuhns, both at home; 1 brother, Karlin Kuhns, at home; paternal grandparents Freeman and Irene Kuhns, of Milford, IN; and maternal grandmother Ina Mullet of Nappanee.
Faron was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Jonas Mullet.

Ivan L. Kuhns, age 87, of Nappanee, passed away at 9:40 a.m., Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at his residence, after an extended illness. He was born September 29, 1932 in Marshall County to Levi and Edna (Yoder) Kuhns. On March 10, 1955 he married Susie Weaver in Lagrange County, IN. She preceded him in death May 12, 2002. Ivan was a member of the Old Order Amish Church. He had worked at Ayr Cabinets. Ivan was a lifetime area resident.
He is survived by his children, Vernon Kuhns, Goshen, Ruby Ellen (Glenn Ray) Yoder, Etna Green, Mary Etta Kuhns, Nappanee, Lizzie Ann (Aaron) Borkholder, Bourbon, Jerry (Sharon Kay) Kuhns, Bremen; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Menno (Elizabeth) Kuhns, Drakesville, IA; sisters, Fannie (Albert) Miller, Nappanee, Carrie (Andy) Hochstetler, Lagrange, Lizzie (Vernon) Bontrager, Mio, MI. He was preceded in death by his wife, Susie Kuhns; daughter, Edna Mae Kuhns; son, Eli Kuhns; sister, Wilma Mast; brothers, Jonas, Omar, Lester, and Edwin Kuhns.

Martha Kulp, 95, Nappanee, died 7 a.m. Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at her home. Previously, she was a resident of Waterford Crossing Health Center for 3 ½ years. She was born June 20, 1924 in Nappanee, to Daniel & Ida (Weaver) Ramer. On July 25, 1943, she married Ernest Kulp and he died Feb. 3, 2009.
Surviving are a daughter, Rosemary (Ben) Shirk, Goshen, sons, Stan (Kathleen) Kulp, Elkhart, David (Phyllis) Kulp, New Paris, daughter-in-law, Mary Ellen Kulp Heisey, Taylorsville, Mississippi, 15 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren and a sister, Grace Shaum, Goshen.
Preceding her in death are her parents, husband, son, Dale Kulp, sister, Mabel Bauman and brothers, Harvey Ramer & Floyd Ramer.
Martha was a mother, homemaker and farmers wife. She was a member of the Yellow Creek Wisler Mennonite Church and worked as a cook and caregiver.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday, May 21, 2020 at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Goshen. COVID-19 guidelines will be followed. Lena G. Kurtz, 93, of Kurtz Road, Ephrata, entered into rest on Thursday, November 5, 2020. She died of natural causes at home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late John B. Kurtz.
She was born March 30, 1927, in Earl Township to the late David M. and Annie N. Reiff.
She was a member of Groffdale Mennonite Church of the Weaverland Conference.
She is survived by two sons, Melvin R. (Irene) Kurtz of Scipio Center, NY, and Harold R. (Grace) Kurtz of Manheim, PA; three daughters, Anna Mary (Clair Z.) Weaver of Narvon, PA, Irene R. (Lester B.) Weaver of Manheim, PA and Erma Jane (Nevin L.) Martin of Moravia, NY; and a daughter-in-law, Margaret (Earl Ray) Hursh of Middleburg, PA.
Also surviving are 44 grandchildren, 179 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Anna G. Martin.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband who died, May 17, 1980; a son, John David Kurtz; a granddaughter, Mary Margaret Kurtz; a grandson, Arlen L. Weaver; 2 great-grandchildren, Kimberly B. Hursh, and Virgil L. Hursh; and three brothers and sisters-in-law, Samuel G. and Anna Reiff, Phares G. and Emma Reiff, Jacob G. and Katie Reiff; and a brother-in-law, Levi W. Martin.
Lena greatly enjoyed the children in her life. John and Lena operated the family feed mill business and were actively involved at Fairmount Rest Home from its beginning. Lena continued to serve as a volunteer for many years.
The family gives a special thank-you to Lena's live-in caregiver, Mary M. Martin, and the other caregivers who assisted with her care.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, November 12, 2020, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Martindale Fellowship Center, 352 Martindale Rd., Ephrata, PA 17522.
A funeral service will be held Friday, November 13, 2020, at 9:00 a.m. at Martindale Fellowship Center with further service at 9:30 a.m. at Groffdale Mennonite Church, 90 Groffdale Church Rd., Leola, PA 17540. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery.

Norman H. Kurtz, 90, of Myerstown, PA, passed away in his home on Tuesday, November 3, 2020. He was the husband of the late Anna O. Martin Kurtz. He was born in Earl Township, Lancaster County on November 14, 1929, a son of the late Christian B. and Ella N. Hoover Kurtz.
Norman was a retired farmer and had a community welding repair shop for many years. He was a member of the Martin's Mennonite Church of the Weaverland Conference.
Norman is survived by sons, Elvin and Elva Kurtz of Scipio Center, NY; Lloyd and Nancy Kurtz of Myerstown; Mark and Darlene Kurtz of Mifflinburg; John and Arlene Kurtz of Beavertown; Norman and Mary Ann Kurtz of Colby, WI; daughters, Alta and Menno Wenger of Beavertown; Vera and Isaac Newswanger of Carson City, MI; Mary and Lester Martin of Loyal, WI; Anna and Abraham Shirk of Hagerstown, MD; Mabel Kurtz of Myerstown; Sarah and Alvin Martin of Unity, WI; Ella and Nelson Ray Zimmerman of Loyal, WI; 83 grandchildren; 202 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Weaver of Myerstown; Verna Zimmerman of Wellsboro; Naomi and Harvey Weaver of Bernville.
